EARTH
Formerly known as SWC Recycling Committee, EARTH (Environmental Awareness, Recycling, and Terrestrial Health) promotes sustainability in student lifestyles because we believe that student wellness stems from living in a clean environment. We educate students on environmental issues and put on activities and programs that promote reusing materials, reducing consumption, and recycling waste. Some of our activities include:
-Themed craft nights for students to learn how to turn trash into treasures
-Flower-potting programs for students to decorate a flower pot to take back to their dorm room or apartment to enjoy
-Sponsoring recycling drives in the residence halls
-Coordinate UCLA’s celebration of Earth Day in April with other environmental groups on campus.
- And we brainstorm new ideas for programs every quarter!
SWC EARTH Winter Quarter!
Welcome back to school!
Our meetings this quarter will be the same as last quarter: Tuesdays every even week at 6:00 PM in Kerckhoff 308 (the SWC Office). Our first meeting will be Tuesday, January 13; we’ll be discussing events we want to put on this quarter as well as coordinating projects with other groups on campus.
For questions contact swc_earth@yahoo.com.
Look forward to seeing you there!
