Blood Drive
The UCLA SWC Blood Drive has been in operation for over 10 years with the UCLA Blood & Platelet Center and is responsible for over 1700 donations yearly, providing to the needs of our local communities and hospitals. By donating through the SWC Blood Drive, your blood donation will go directly to the UCLA Medical Center and work towards saving people’s lives in the UCLA community.
The Blood Drive Committee runs blood drives during weeks 1 and 6 of each quarter, and saves the UCLA Medical Center an estimated $400,000 yearly. Our goal is to meet the complete blood donation needs of the UCLA Medical Center and associated hospitals. Got blood? Please donate at one of our quarterly blood drives, or better yet, email swcblooddrive@gmail.com to join our team, and gain great leadership experience while volunteering for a truly noble cause.
Our blood drive dates are posted on the calendar; click on the calendar tab above to view upcoming dates.

Remember to always donate directly to the UCLA Blood and Platelet Center: outside organizations, such as the American Red Cross, will sell blood back to the UCLA Medical Center for $300-$450 depending on blood type. Blood donated directly to the UCLA Blood and Platelet Center (look for the logo) goes directly to the patients of the UCLA Healthcare System.
